Unicef Tap Project wins Cannes Lions 2013

Bad Assembly brings home the bronze lion for their water network work with Droga5. On a bit of a winning streak, the Los Angeles shop is also recognized with an FWA Mobile Award for their work on the 72andSunny Website.

Bad Assembly recently took home two coveted awards: a Bronze Cyber Lion at the 2013 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity and an FWA Mobile Award. Bad Assembly’s technical and design work on the UNICEF Tap Project’s website and Facebook app earned them the Bronze Cyber Lion. The application turned the world’s largest social networking site into a virtual pipeline for providing clean water to developing countries.

“UNICEF Tap Project was a challenging, yet truly rewarding, campaign from start to finish. Working collaboratively with Droga5, who was a new client with a unique vision, we were able to create a meaningful and substantial campaign,” says Scott Baggett, co-founder and partner at Bad Assembly.

“Winning Bronze Cyber Lion for the campaign was a blessing, but helping get water to children in need was the real win for Bad Assembly.”

Bad Assembly also won an FWA Mobile Of the Day Award for their redesign of the 72andSunny website. Guided by the creative directors at 72andSunny, an advertising agency based in Los Angeles, Bad Assembly built a modern and visually rich website, along with a mobile version accessible on a variety of mobile devices.
On the FWA win, Scott Baggett comments, “It's not that often that you get to collaborate with the world's most creative advertising agency. Mobile site and apps demand a focused experience that distills the content to its most intuitive and simple execution—which, as it turns out, is why we get out of bed in the morning.”
